BIOTECH | FINANCE
Neurocrine Biosciences (Nasdaq: NBIX) posted a smaller loss in the third quarter, beating analyst estimates after it reduced expenses significantly.

BIOTECH | TECHNOLOGY
On Thursday, the La Jolla Institute for Allergy & Immunology, is scheduled to dedicate its new Elam Discovery Wall and Type 1 Diabetes Center, which will focus on research into novel immunological-focused approaches to type 1 diabetes.

Shares of Illumina Inc. (Nasdaq: ILMN) continued their descent Wednesday as investors reacted to the company's lower-than-expected third-quarter earnings report and full-year outlook.

As of the end of September there are approximately 65,800 employed construction workers in the San Diego metropolitan area. This is a drop of about 600 jobs from August, equating to a 0.90 percent drop from last month's 66,400 jobs.
